Pre-Discharge Bankruptcy Workshops

These programs are designed to provide comprehensive curriculum covering a variety of financial budgeting topics, assuring you have the tools necessary to build a strong financial foundation.

As of October 17, 2005, all individuals filing for bankruptcy under Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 are required to participate in a pre-discharge bankruptcy education session.

• How credit works
• How to rebuild credit

Consumers who receive pre-discharge education with our Agency (an NFCC member) can expect:

• Format: Our education sessions are available through in-person group workshops, telephone sessions, or by internet counseling.
• Certificate: Consumers will receive a certificate indicating that they completed the education session. Please note that the Pre-Discharge Debtor Education Certificate has no expiration date.
• Cost: There is a $50.00 fee per filer; fees may be waived for those who meet defined income guidelines and provide us with documented proof of income. Payments are to be made by money order. Online counseling also accepts MASTERCARD & VISA.
